Hue & Me.

Packaging Solution

Hue & Me is a vibrant paint brand that celebrates creativity in all its colourful, messy glory. Designed to spark joy and self-expression, it brings playfulness back to painting through bold colour, thoughtful design, and reusable packaging. At its core, Hue & Me is about connection, between people, creativity, and the simple happiness of making by hand. Cheerful, inclusive, and full of personality, it reminds every artist, hobbyist, or beginner that art is meant to be fun.

The Brief.

Hue & Me was a school project at Torrens University’s Form & Insight unit, where I set out to completely reimagine hobby paint packaging using Design Thinking. I created a bold, joyful brand identity expressed through playful, functional packaging that makes painting feel fun and accessible. Backed by user research and testing, I designed graphics and researched colour systems that enhance usability while sparking creativity. This project is proof of my ability to craft packaging that’s not only practical but memorable, a strong example of how I bring brand, design, and user experience together with confidence and clarity.

A product that solves the mess, embraces creativity, and demands to be displayed.

The Product.

The Hue & Me packaging was developed through an iterative design process that explored multiple directions before arriving at the final concept. Research into user needs and brand personality guided the evolution of the graphics and final logo. By testing and refining ideas, I created a system that balances functionality with playfulness, encouraging collectability through themed sets and limited editions. The result is packaging that embodies the brand’s mission to make creativity accessible, inspiring, and joyfully mess‑friendly for artists of all levels.

The Objective and Purpose.

Hue & Me exists to make creativity joyful, approachable, and sustainable. The brand’s purpose is to empower hobbyists, beginners, and casual creatives by turning painting into an experience that celebrates individuality and play. Rooted in inclusivity and eco‑conscious values, Hue & Me uses bold colour, expressive design, and storytelling to build emotional connection and confidence. Its objective is simple: to inspire people to create freely, embrace imperfection, and enjoy art as a personal, planet‑friendly journey.

Expanding.

As a painter myself, I wanted Hue & Me to extend beyond packaging into products that felt authentic to the brand. Guided by the brief, I applied a Design Thinking approach to explore how the identity could live across other media and build a cohesive visual system. To maintain relevance and strengthen the brand’s connection to creativity, I chose paint‑related touchpoints such as an artist’s apron, a branded mug, and other everyday items that reinforce the playful, inclusive personality. This expansion demonstrates my ability to translate core values into tangible experiences, ensuring the brand feels consistent, memorable, and inspiring across multiple contexts.
