Brand Refresh & Promtional Items
AWE (Act Write Entertainment) is an Australian film and stage production company founded by actor, writer and filmmaker Don Batee. Producing socially conscious content across film and live performance, AWE is built on three core values, integrity in creation, truthful storytelling, and purposeful social impact. Their award-winning work spans feature films, theatrical productions and documentary series that explore cultural identity and socio-political themes.
The Brief.
The project required developing a unified brand identity system for AWE including a primary, secondary and icon logo suite, colour palette, typography system and brand style guide. Alongside the identity, the brief required a visual direction for A Ferryman's Journey, applied across 3 digital promotional assets (social media, banners, email) and 3 print assets (posters, flyers, programs).

AWE Solution.
The brief called for an evolution of AWE's existing identity, not a replacement. Through iterative research and concept exploration, I simplified and modernised the Kokopelli symbol into a scalable, minimal mark while preserving its connection to storytelling and movement. A hand-drawn approach introduces a human quality, supported by a custom AWE wordmark and the Grecyliff typeface for clarity and contrast. Multiple logo variations ensure flexibility across all touchpoints.

A Ferryman's Journey.
For A Ferryman's Journey, the poster captures the production's emotional depth through strong visual hierarchy and symbolic imagery. The eye motif represents memory and personal history, while a warm palette and textural elements reflect themes of identity, place and transition. The result is a system where both the brand identity and promotional material work cohesively, practical, scalable and emotionally resonant.
